Try Nutrisystem’s Tuna Salad: A Lovely Delight

Tuna can be a part of any sensible weight-loss plan. Though it isn’t touted as a fat-burning miracle, it is dense in nutrients, especially protein and vitamins. On an average, every ounce of light tuna has almost 24 calories, which makes it a fantastic food for people who are looking to shed some pounds. Flavor your tuna dishes with some mayonnaise or simply pepper-and-lemon to bring out the perfect flavor.

Nutrisystem brings you a delicious tuna salad with a sophisticated twist. Large chunks of light tuna are combined with mayonnaise, pickles, onions, chestnuts, and spices for a soothing flavor and crunchy feel. Whether you put this salad inside a sandwich or in a whole wheat roll, the end product is a mouthwatering dish with a lingering flavor. I like to put it in a bread pocket as shown below.

Nutritional Facts:
Overall, this recipe packs just 120 calories, which is surprisingly low for a dish rich in mayonnaise. Out of them, 60 calories are from fat (there is zero trans fat). The tuna salad contains 20mg of cholesterol, 280mg of sodium and 3 grams of carbohydrate. Sadly, like most salads, it doesn’t contain any dietary fiber. Also, there are 13 grams of protein.

Tuna and chestnuts form an interesting combination that I personally liked very much. Other ingredients include soybean oil, sugar, egg, vinegar, egg yolk powder, pickled onions, pickled, garlic, pickled cucumber, corn starch, water, salt, and xanthan gum.

Cooking Method:
Preparing this tuna salad is too simple and needs no effort at all. Open the pouch and pour them on a small sub or a whole wheat roll. That’s it, the salad is ready to eat. You may choose to heat it in a microwave for half a minute or so.

What’s my take on the salad?
This salad tastes good. However, I would have liked it more if onions weren’t included. The spices bring out a nice flavor while the tuna chunks melt in your mouth. I ordered the salad twice and made sandwiches with it both the times. I also added some onions, bell peppers, jalapenos, olives, and a lettuce leaf – the taste was awesome.

Overall, this is a fantastic item to have for lunch. Put it inside whole grain buns and you have a scrumptious sub to eat at your workplace, in the afternoon. It also tastes great as a salad dressing. This dish is light, contains few calories and has all the healthy ingredients. I highly recommend you try it once especially if you love tuna.

Along with the breakfast cereal, the tuna salad by Nutrisystem are my two favorite meals.

Nutrisystem has a huge variety of meal choices. And their prices are not that expensive. I remember the first time I joined the program it was January so I used a Nutrisystem coupon code January.
